The 12 Steps of GInA

This, of course, is a work in a process. I am hoping to work with a psychologist/therapist to refine it. I will be tweaking it from the traditional 12 Steps to focus on Mental Health.

The 12 Steps

1. We admitted we were powerless over our insanities — that our lives had become unmanageable.

2. Came to believe that a Power greater than ourselves could restore us to sanity.

 3. Made a decision to turn our will and our lives over to the care of God (or the Universe) as we understood It.

4. Made a searching and fearless moral inventory of ourselves.

5. Admitted to the Universe, to ourselves, and to another human being the exact nature of our Illnesses.

6. Were entirely ready to work on these illnesses.

7. Humbly asked the Universe, and ourselves, to help with the journey to mental wellness.

8. Identified Ourselves as the person we had hurt the most, and our inner child, and became willing to grant ourselves mercy and show compassion to our inner child.

9. Forgave the people who had hurt us.

10. Continued to take personal inventory through mediation and when we were wrong promptly admitted it and processed it.

11. Sought trough prayer and meditation to improve our contact with the Universe, as we understood it, asking only for the knowledge of Its will for us and the power to carry it out and find our authentic selves and self-actualization.

12. Having had a spiritual awakening as a result of these steps, we try to carry out this message to people who suffer everywhere, and to practice these principles in all of our affairs.

(Editing and rewrite in progress)

As I develop and solidify the 12 Steps, I will add explanations and meditations for them, creating, “The Little Big Book of Gentler Insanities Anonymous.”

For the those who practice the traditional 12 Steps, I will add explanations on why I changed some of them in that will also be able to be found in my Key Elements of GInA.
