Gentler Insanities Anonymous

Aloha! Let’s talk story.

I recently read a study that said close to 20% of high school students report having suicidal thoughts. Nobody seems to talk about it. I don’t mind talking about it, but I am not sure how. There seems to be a way of thinking that we don’t talk about it because it will give them thoughts of it. That makes no sense to me.

Long ago, I was part of the 20%. I had the thoughts in high school and even before. By not talking about the thoughts, which I call passively suicidal, perhaps contributed to me becoming actively suicidal.

So, I wanted to make a video where I talk plainly and directly to youths and young adults about my experience with suicidal thoughts.

Anybody and everybody is welcome to reach out to me. cgajewski@live.com and chris@friendsofgina.com.

I am not a therapist or any kind of mental health care professional. If there are any out there that would like to contribute to the next version of this video, please do.
